I’ve had strongly hormonal positive breast cancer with lymph node involvement treated with neoadjuvant chemo and lumpectomy.
My oncologist has advised starting tamoxifen before radiotherapy. I’m not convinced to start yet.
I’ve read tamoxifen can reduce the effectiveness of radiotherapy, that one can experience toxicity with doing both treatments concurrently and that long term outcomes aren’t any worse if you wait until after radiotherapy to start tamoxifen.
My friend's centre doesn’t recommend starting until after radiotherapy.
