    Blood in stools

    Related Topic
My doctor requested I should be tested for FOBT (Bowel Screening). The first sample came back positive. While waiting for my colonoscopy appointment I continued taking stool sample tests and noticed several times streaks of blood in the stool. It appears to me the blood is a dark red colour, there is no blood on the toilet seat nor the toilet paper. The doctor also performed a visual and ruled out haemorrhoids.

After the colonoscopy, the doctor commented on my excellent colon/bowel preparation and also told me there was no polyps present which I find very hard to believe given the amount of blood present in the stool samples.

Do you believe I should see the doctor and request another colonoscopy or perhaps it could be gastro issues?
