Yes there are.  There are new treatments for mild psoriasis as well as severe psoriasis. The optimal treatment is determined by the severity of your psoriasis. Even the most severe psoriasis can be made to melt away over a 4-6 week period. These new treatments are safe for long term use. Many people end up exchanging all their creams for a single injection once every 3 months. Some of these treatments are subsidised by Government while others are only available to patients who participate in clinical trials (www.sinclairdermatology.com.au). Patients who volunteer for clinical trials receive all their medications and doctor visits free of charge. If you haven’t seen your doctor for some time, now might be time to go again.
