    Bowel regularity after surgery

    I was diagnosed 4 years ago and had a bag for 12 months. I now have no bag. I can't seem to get control of my bowel. Sometimes I can be constipated while other times stools can be very loose. Reaction to food varies.

    My biggest problem is that I have no way of knowing when I need to go and can often be caught out away from the house on trips in the car etc. It's driving me and my wife nuts as we can't plan to do things in the certain knowledge that I won't need to go to the toilet. I really need help as it's affecting our relationship badly.
