If you get a nose bleed, the best way to stop it bleeding is to hold your head forward and apply direct pressure to the bridge of the nose or nostrils until it stops. You should rest until the bleeding settles.

Nosebleeds are not usually serious and may be caused by infection, injury, allergic reaction, and frequent nose picking. If you have recurrent nose bleeds, see your GP who can look for causes and suggest potential treatments. Sometimes you may need referral to an ENT for further treatment.
