My son has been tested and has an IQ of 136. However, he is very reluctant to show it. In class he has to be cajoled into writing even a few sentences, when his peers are writing a page +. He was doing multiplication work with the psychologist who tested him when he was in kindergarten. He now gets cranky and says he can't do simple mathematics. The psychologist he was seeing retired and we were not referred to anyone else.
Any suggestions on how to help him meet even a little of his potential would be greatly appreciated.
