I tore my calf muscle in my right leg in October 2015 (7 cm tear) and then tore it again (2 cm) in December 2015. I never had surgery as I did not have medical insurance. I only found out that it was torn in January 2016 after the Dr saw the scar tissue on the scan.
I recently started walking/running again and about 2 km into my walk/run I get a tingling feeling on the outside of my right leg and the pain increases until the point where my lower leg becomes numb.
Is this a result of one muscle working overtime to compensate for the weakened muscle?
I want to continue walking/running but the pain becomes quite intense.
Am I doing more damage if I continue to exercise or will it become better as the damaged muscle continues to strengthen?
