    My wife wants me to get my PSA checked because her brother just had his prostate out. If it comes back high, do I have prostate cancer too?

    Good on your wife for recommending this to you. The short answer is "perhaps". A high PSA is more of a red flag that a prostate cancer might be present - it does not mean a cancer is definitely present. Typically a level over 3 may be cause for concern (over 2 for men in their 40's) . Whether further testing is needed depends on a lot of other factors, and is often best adressed by a Urologist.
