A neurophysiologist has confirmed that my CNS's inability to function is now extreme. I continue to rely on muscle only for standing and for fine motor skills, but I now have significant loss of shoulder strength. Strong triceps and forearms, a strong torso with very strong back muscles are now my main means of rising from chairs but with the assistance of a wide-stance gait to help me stand. Once I'm up I can walk short distances (with short recovery breaks) by using the assistance of two canes. Hip pain is also extreme, but shoulder weakness renders me ineffective to even use a walker when attempting to walk short distances without my below-knee-resistance orthotic. Bathroom visits through the night have become a problem, requiring fitting of orthotic and boot. Left boot built up approximately 50mm to 65mm. Very limited gross motor strength. Can barely touch my forehead with finger tip with a free arm but unable to scratch it. Require elbow on a surface for leverage.
