    Blood in stool, white flecks on stool, cramping, nausea, vomiting

    I have been experiencing a digestive issue for about 4 months now and unfortunately have not seen a healthcare professional. I am curious as to how serious these symptoms combined are. The blood in my stool is bright red to a lesser intensity of bright red. I've noticed also mucus in my stool and today it smelt slightly of ammonia.

    Without knowing how old you are and your other health concerns, I would suggest you see your GP in the first instance. Bloody stools is abnormal. The cause may vary from benign causes such as haemorrhoids or infection to more sinister causes.
