Mum is 88. she had a colostomy 3 years ago due to fecal incontinence. Twice following that she had surgery to repair her bowel prolapse but both times it failed. She has total bowel prolapse , even though the colostomy works fine. She says she is in unbearable pain from the prolapse and is on 4 endone a day. Why is she experiencing so much pain when the bowel is not being used and can anything be done?
