    Can I wear old retainers?

My teeth have shifted out of place again, I am wondering if it is safe to use my old retainers to get my teeth straight again. They are plastic like invisalign and not metal, so they form to my teeth better and do not hurt my mouth.

Retainers aim to keep the teeth from moving after the teeth have been straightened, they are not effective as a means of restraighening the teeth particularly if there is significant movement of the teeth. Please get the old retainer checked by your dentist or orthodontist before using it again, as a poorly fitting retainer will make the teeth alignment worse.
