  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

I started having braces overseas. Can I continue my treatment here?

Hi I have recently moved to Perth due to relocation of work. I have started my braces in Malaysia and just wondering if I could continue the rest of my treatment in Perth, Australia? Do I have to remove existing braces? The braces is damon system. Would be much appreciated if you could help. Thank you

Yes, you can continue the treatment here. However, some clinician may treat your case differently, so they will have to do new records and assessment. If a clinician is familiar or uses the Damon system you may not need to remove the existing braces, again it depends on the clinician. Providing your records from your othodontist or dentist in Malaysia will help a lot in determining the appropriate treatment.
