  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

What could be causing my symptoms (tremors, scissoring gait, & more)?

I'm a 31 year old female & since Feb 2014 when I had 3 teeth extracted under GA (due to decay & infection), I have had progressively worsening tremors which started in my legs & then moved up to my arms & hands. I have also developed a scissoring gait & quite often walk/fall into walls. I have seen a neurologist, who has also pointed out that my pupils are dilated (7mm), that I have hyper-reflexia & a Chiari Malformation of 5mm shown on an MRI. Having done an MRI & blood tests, the neurologist now is taking the "wait & see approach", I think hoping that my symptoms will improve & that I won't go back to see them. Meanwhile, my symptoms are worsening & I'm at a loss as to what to do or what could be causing my symptoms... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
