    Should I consult a private specialist for a 13 year old female with a cyst in the throat region?

    Keeley is 13 and has this cyst for most of her life. It has become enlarged over the years and her GP sent her to have a MRI which confirmed his suspicion. She has been on the waiting list to see an ENT specialist for many months and we have been told it could be another year or so before she sees someone. As I have a Government Health card and cannot afford an operation to remove the cyst my question is whether it would speed up the process if she was to see a specialist privately and still be on the public waiting list for her operation ?
