    What's the cure for insomnia?

    Related Topic
    Hello,

I'm 36 years old and a Blogger and work from my home (No exposure to sunlight)

I've been suffering from insomnia for the last 3 years.

I've tried almost all remedies like - exercise, hot milk at night, bath in the evening, yoga, yoga-nidra, meditation, staying away from tea-coffee after 5pm, listening to music and so on. Nothing worked.

Only thing seems to be working is - when I go to bed, playing small Q&A games like A-Z Actor names, A-Z cities names or songs, Animal names etc. WITH my wife. But, the problem with this idea is my wife sleeps in 10 minutes whereas I take 30-45 minutes to sleep after we start playing such games.

Though at nights my mind is calm, it's over-active.

I feel grumpy and anxious after sleepless nights and research a lot on Internet about getting good sleep.

What is causing insomnia? Why the above idea of playing games at bed-time works? Any long-term solution using the above technique?

    Please advise
