  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Can someone give me more information about Microwave Ablation for stage IV bowel cancer treatment?

My father has been diagnosed with Stage IV bowel cancer which has spread to the liver via one lymph node.

He has had surgery to remove the cancer from the bowel and has his first meeting with the Oncologist in 3 weeks to discuss chemotherapy.

We have been doing some research and have found some information on a microwave technique that seems to be successful in treating liver tumors.

Can anyone provide any information on this technique? Is it widely available? Is it more effective than current chemotherapy treatments?

    Thank you
