Could I be having complications from my tubal ligation procedure?

Hi, I have had a tubal ligation several years ago, and although have never experienced any problems, have of late been having lower right abdominal pain near the ovaries, mainly close to a period however occassionally at any time. This pain is normally a cramping experience however there have been times when Ive nearly jumped through the roof when my partner had touched me within the area. I had one time when I had even had some sharp pinching/stinging pain in the centre of my stomach. I have been reading what the causes could be since having this pain and came accross stories about filshie clips falling off and am now concerned that it may be that or adhesions because of them. Originally I thought it may have been my apendix however the pain isnt every day, am generally well, pain is usually started a few after ive finished my period. Can ovulation pain be this intense, an ovarian cyst or these filshie clips. My period is still normal every 28 days.,with heavy to light periods.

This is certainly an intriguing problem surgically and obviously quite vexing for you. I have not seen cases of pain so long after application of Filsche clips and it doesn't make much sense that after 7 years they should start to cause new pain. Secondly whilst they do migrate commonly they are usually found free within the abdominal cavity without causing any problem, but they have turned up in strange places (one report had a Fislche clip that worked its way through the bladder wall!). The pain does osund pelvic and I would reccomend seeing a gynaecologist and, if examination can elicit discomfort in the same areas, a laparoscopy to remove the clips and diagnose/manage any causes for pain such as adhesions may be of great benefit to you.
