How long does in take to form a 20cm long stricture?

I have just been diagnosed with Crohns, I have been out of the Army for 15 years, is it possible that I could have been suffering during my time in the Army?, I had an anal skin tag, years of terminal dribbling, and enlarged prostrate, and once tested postion to TB, (but an xray was clear). The reason I ask is, I am about to be made redundant, if I can trace this back to the Army I can try for treatment, otherwise, I doubt that I will be able to. One income family, wife suffers from Lupus.

    Thanks

Strictures that arise from scar tissue usually develop after a long period of disease, although its presence may have not been evident until more recently when symptoms became more pronounced and investigations revealed the diagnosis.  However whether the Crohn’s started to develop during your years in the army would not be known and unless you can recall having unexplained episodes of bowel symptoms or other signs that led to having a medical history relating to this problem, it might prove to be very difficult to claim it started back in your days of service.
