In some people, there may be an adverse effect on depth perception but good vision in each eye. In others the vision in one eye may not develop properly. In small children (under age 7 or 8) with strabismus/squint/esotropia/turned eye it is imperative that they are examined by an optometrist or ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Early intervention results in better outcomes.
