    High Cholesterol or more importantly high lipids which includes cholesterol can contribute to narrowing of the blood vessels called atherosclerosis.
    Cholesterol is however an important component of the body's normal function & can't be removed completely from the diet. Our bodies also produce their own supply of cholesterol, some more than others.
    People with familial high cholesterol can benefit from using the plant sterol enriched food products available such as margarines & milks. These can help to reduce the lipid profile overall.
