    Anaplastic thyroid cancer is the most aggressive form of thyroid cancer. The name anaplastic comes from the cells that barely resemble their orgin, the thyroid gland. These cancers grow quickly, invade adjacent structures and are difficult to treat. Luckily it is not very common.
