    The answer to this depends on your lifestyle choices. If you regularly have sexual intercourse with different partners and do not use condoms then you could probably have a test to see where you are at today. It is true that people are unaware that they may have HIV as it can take up to ten years from transmission for any signs or symptoms to occur. If you are worried seek advice from your local sexual the lath centre. If you use condoms and know whether your partner does not have the virus, then you can make a choice as to whether your are tested.
