    The most common types of skin cancer in Australia are squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma and melanoma. Australians have high rates of skin cancer so if you have a new or changing area on your skin it's a good idea to see your doctor to get it checked out. When in doubt a biopsy is recommended - it's better to be safe than sorry and skin cancers are best treated early.
