    When you first discover that you are pregnant with a positive urine pregnancy test, you are around the 4 week mark. A dating scan typically occurs around the 7 week mark. So if you discovered you are pregnant 8 weeks ago, I would touch base with your GP and arrange for a dating scan. This is important as you can confirm the viability and check if it's a single pregnancy or multiple. If you have any pain or bleeding, then I recommend you pop in to your local emergency department for an urgent assessment. All the best.
