My sons had reflux and we used neocate formula which needs a script. So much better than soy as there is ao much controversy about soy and infertility .

This is an example of reflux being a symptom of food sensitivity - in these cases, milk protein sensitivity. Neocate is only used when the infant cannot tolerate regular formula (cows'-milk-based), or the breastfeeding mother is unable to either identify or manage to eliminate the foods affecting her child. There is much a breastfeeding mother can do in the way of food investigation of her own diet before resorting to weaning to Neocate.

Note that soy formula as an alternative to regular formula is not recommended by Australian paediatricians for infants under 6 months of age, but is OK if tolerated after 6 months, when it is no longer the infant's sole source of nutrition. There is insufficient evidence to believe that soy formula is harmful at all. Concerns are more about theories and assumptions than hard evidence.
