    Painful crunching jaw

8-9 years ago I was eating and my jaw popped & caused pain. Since then it hasn't stopped. I can't open my mouth fully now. It only pops if I yawn and open it a little too much, sometimes when I'm eating. However, the pain has gotten worse and while it doesn't "pop" as much it now more frequently makes a squeaking, crunching kind of noise.

I get headaches a lot and a lot of pain around the jaw/face and ear area. I struggle to eat because it's so painful. I struggle to be able to kiss my partner passionately because it continuously slips out. I have adapted because I didn't have a choice in some aspects. I talk without moving my jaw too much.

I have never been one to clench or grind my teeth awake or asleep. The only way I feel a bit of ease and comfort is with my tongue on my pallet and my teeth slightly apart. But it hasn't stopped anything. It's just getting worse & worse. Have seen a few Drs over the years who just give me an exercise sheet of things to do and not do. Please help!
