I am 40 years old. Just started taking 2.5mg perindopril/day. I have 3 months to get my cholesterol down to avoid cholesterol tablets. I weigh 85 kgs and am 170cm tall.
My father had 5 x bypass surgery at 61yrs - now 72. He is a farmer, very fit and healthy. Has to keep his cholesterol under 2.2. His father (my paternal grandfather) died at 46 yrs of a heart attack.
Should I get a calcium score test done or ask to be referred to a cardiologist for good measure? My GP says she doesn't think I need to see a cardiologist, but with my family history, I think I should and wanted a second opinion.
Most patients would agree that AF episodes are very frightening and bring on a lot of anxiety. For some reason I have this fear that AF can lead to sudden death. Can someone expand on this?
