Can frequently getting new impressions for retainer have negative impact?

    Related Topic
I got my braces taken off at 15, I am now 21 and have been wearing retainers at night ever since. Over the course of these 6 years, I have either broken or lost my retainers 5 times. The first two times I just got new retainers based on the impressions that were taken when I got my braces taken off.

However, my parents divorced and my moulds (which were kept at home) were lost. Since then I have broken/ lost my retainer a few times and each time I go back then dentist wants to take new impressions of my teeth and mould the retainer around that. In the past 9 months, I have been dealing with some quite strong jaw tension/ pain and was just wondering if that could have played a factor? Or is it perfectly fine to take new impressions each time I get a replacement retainer? ( I am really trying to not lose or break them so much)
