I have been on OCP for 15-20 years continuously (no sugar pills) to not have periods due to significant pain & suspected endometriosis, this has worked to date.
I have a polyp that needs removing (found by 2 months of heavy breakthrough bleeding) and my new gynaecologist has recommended levonorgestrel IUD instead of the pill.
Given that the OCP has worked effectively, should I consider moving to levonorgestrel IUD?
Is levonorgestrel IUD the recommended course of action today?
