    There is no one number that fits all.

    Many factors can influence heart rate, including activity level, fitness, temperature, body position, emotion , body size and medications.

    A lower heart rate implies better cardiovascular fitness and a more efficient heart, however the normal range lies between 60 beats per min and 100 bpm.

    A persistantly high or low HR can indicate an underlying problem .
