I just discovered a lump in my right breast. A mammogram and ultrasound indicate cancer. The lymph nodes looked clear. My radiologist wants to perform a biopsy. I have read that biopsy may increase the risk of metastasis and there are now diagnostic blood tests that identify cancer markers and where they originate. I don’t want to increase metastasis risk if the lymph nodes show there is no metastasis. Should I risk biopsy or ask for the blood test?
