Will retainers after braces help fix the gap?

I got my braces off a week ago and the gap in my front teeth has come back. I have to wait another week before I get my retainers. Will the retainers be able to fix the gap?

The retainers are made from the impression taken straight after the braces come off (assuming there was no space when the impressions were taken), if it fits well enough when you get it, the space may close. Really depends on how much space has opened up. If concerned please discuss this with your orthodontist or dentist. It's usually easily fixed.
