What do I do if my boyfriend is depressed and is pushing me away?

Hi, I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for just over a year, over the last 6 months I have noticed he is suffering with depression (he has admitted this himself) he said he feels no emotion, finds it hard to deal with general life, always tired and exhausted, gets back pains, doesn't like planning anything for the future, always says negative things about himself, while suffering with depression he has been on 2 or 3 nights out where he has taken drugs, one night out he cheated on me and told me straight after, I chose to forgive him because something tells me that this isn't who he is compared to when I first met him, we broke up in November because he said he feels like he isn't making me happy or can make me happy at the moment, we have been speaking most days and I spent Christmas with him and he said he's going to go to the doctors and try sort things out but I just feel like he doesn't want to be with me anymore and just seems to talk to me like I'm a friend.it hurts
