  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Do I need a referral to see an immunologist?

I have chronic urticaria and have read seeing an immunologist would be beneficial to my recovery.

Also what is the average cost?

As with most specialists, a referral from a GP is required to visit an Immunologist.
The cost will vary, but you can ask your GP who will provide you with an average cost and the medicare rebate you will receive.
Usually there is further testing involved which can also have charges.
