  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

How will insulin affect my fitness and weight training?

At the beginning of this year I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes,

I'm 27 years old and training regular and in quite good physical condition.

However I'm finding it hard to get the right balance of insulin to my training regime.

I've also noticed an increase in body fat percentile.

What insulin should I be on and when and how much should I be taking I weight on average between 75-80kgs.

Hi there, it is very difficult to answer this without knowing more about your diabetes. I would advise that you see a diabetes educator to ensure that your needs are met more appropriately.
