I'm sorry to answer with “i don't know” but I am in a similar position, looking at schools for my ASD child.

From what I can tell, it's best to go to the open days and talk with them. Most places will make changes to their environments to incorporate a special needs child. Is your child  high functioning? If not, you may want to consider a special school such as Monash Developmental school(?) in wheelers hill. My daughter will be going to a private school. I spoke with the teachers there and was very pleased at their answers to my questions. A lot of the teachers had some experience with children of special needs so it isn't foreign to them.

    good luck
