    Social Workers are amazing people!

They have a variety of purposes depending on the team and the types of people they are engaging with - in a hospital setting they might provide counselling support during a persons stay, assist with discharge planning and link people with services in their local area.

In the community social workers work in law enforcement, legal, medical, therapy and disability sectors - the list is endless but in terms of the teamwork approach social workers are often the glue. They look at all the systems at play with a person or a family and explore ways that these systems can work better together to provide the best outcomes.

Social Workers can also be accredited through Medicare (like me!) to deliver mental health services.
