Implant treatment is complex, high-end dentistry. The parts that we buy are very expensive, and the laboratory and technical work is complex and gets charged for. The other side of the coin is that if you consider that you might end up having the dental implant in your mouth for several decades, it's really not that expensive. So in dollar terms it is expensive, but over the years it turns out that it's rather good value, not only in cost per year, but in the improved quality of life.

Equipment, consumable materials and the cost of training the operators involved.

  • The materials used to make implants are expensive because they have to be very pure and they must be absolutely free of any bacteria or viruses when the dentist drills a hole in the bone and puts the implant in the hole.  Usually the quotation for an implant also includes the cost of the crown or bridge that will go over the top. Crowns and bridges are fabricated as a one off item for each individual paatient and again the ingredients that they are made from are pure and expensive.
