    It can indeed. Impotence can affect people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. People living with diabetes are at risk of developing microvascular and macrovascular complications. To be able to get an erection you need vascular dilation of the penis. If there are any problems with the blood vessels, that can affect the potency of the man.
