    This is often hard work but should be attempted in all cases. The most important risk factor (age) can unfortunately not be reversed. Other factors such as tight blood pressure control, effective treatment of sleep apnoea, reduction in alcohol intake and optimal treatment of other cardiac conditions are all very important and can definitely lead to a reduction in AF.
