Astigmatism is most commonly treated using spectacle correction to compensate for the astigmatic blur.  Wearing an astigmatism correction for the first time can often require a week or two to adapt.  Astigmatism can also be corrected using hard or soft contact lenses.  Other less common alternatives are refractive laser surgery or intra-ocular lenses.
