Why is it so difficult for me to lose weight?

I am an extremely active middle-aged female. I like to jog several times a week and I have a very healthy diet. Why am I still on the chubby/overweight side? It's mostly muscle and not fat, but I want a slim figure!

You have to look at your body shape. There are many types of shapes - some of us are larger boned and will never have a slim svelte body shape. If you are exercising, and eating a healthy diet, and your body is mostly muscle perhaps you should reassess what you think of your body. If you do want to lose some excess fat you should measure your portion sizes. You can eat too much of healthy food as well, which also has calories. If you eat more calories than you burn you will lay them down as fat. What build are your parents and siblings?

On my internet site are examples of menus which will teach you portion sizes (www.arlenesway.com.au) or you should consult a dietitian for advice on the quantities you should be consuming. Often it is just lack of knowledge, as you do seem to have the desire and the discipline to exercise and eat well.
