    While once thought untreatable, there are a number of medications that can regrow hair.  The response rate depends on the cause of the hair loss.  As there are many different causes of alopecia, it is important to ask your GP for a referral to a dermatologists for an accurate diagnosis and so that you receive the correct treatment.
