Whilst most people who reflux, reflux inconsistently throughout a 24 hour period, there are certain situations that will put you at higher risk of refluxing. Eating, especially if it's a large and heavy meal, immediately before lying down to go to sleep will increase your risk of reflux. It is recommended that you do not eat for 2-3 hours before going to bed. A light meal is also preferable.
