Slap Cheek - tell the school when your child has it.

    Related Topic
My son recently had Slap Cheek. Unfortunately one is contagious prior to the red cheeks appearing hence it is hard to prevent the spread of it. The thing that annoyed me is that once I told other mums that my son had it so many said their kids had had it as well in the last few weeks. The school had sent a notification out that there were a couple of cases but from the discussions I had there was way more than a few cases in the school. I think that most parents dont even notify the school, which is a shame as it is so vital that the school is made aware of each case. For one if a teacher is in the early stages of pregnancy (less than 20 weeks) then it is very dangerous.

I trust that if a parent tells a teacher about a case of slap cheek that the teacher would notify the school office who would then notify all staff and all parents.

PARENTS PLEASE TELL THE SCHOOL WHEN OR IF YOUR CHILD GETS ANY OF THE CHILDHOOD DISEASES OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE TEACHERS AND OTHER PARENTS.
