General Surgeon, Upper GI Surgeon (Abdominal)
Surgery — liver resection — is the primary curative treatment for many primary and secondary liver cancers. The decision to operate depends on factors including the type, size, and location of the tumour, the health of the surrounding liver, the patient's overall fitness, and whether the disease has spread elsewhere. All cases are discussed in a multidisciplinary team meeting involving surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists.
