Liver resection involves removing the portion of liver containing the tumour while preserving enough healthy liver tissue for normal function. The liver has a remarkable ability to regenerate, and the remaining liver typically regrows to near its original volume within weeks. Surgery may be performed through open or minimally invasive (laparoscopic) approaches depending on the complexity of the case.
