Diagnosis usually begins with a CT scan, often followed by specialised imaging such as MRI or endoscopic ultrasound. Blood tests including the tumour marker CA 19-9 may support the diagnosis. Each case is reviewed by a specialist pancreatic multidisciplinary team to determine the most appropriate treatment pathway, which may include surgery, chemotherapy, or both.
