I am on my 6th day of having the flu and most of my symptoms have subsided by today. However, my throat has gotten significantly more sore over the week. Inside the mouth, it does not seem swollen (like what you would expect with tonsillitis) but it is a bit red still. My right gland is particularly sore today which I believe is causing the pain as it is more of a dull achy pain. That being said it still hurts to swallow when simply performing the action (swallowing with water or food also hurts). Yesterday I was still feeling quite ill and did have a strong persistent cough, however today both of those have subsided quite a lot, feeling much better with a lot more energy and no persistent cough.
I have just taken some ibuprofen which I am hoping should subside the pain. But my main concern is, is this normal/to be expected when recovering from the flu?
